Tiny Town
a poem inspired by E.A.Poe

In a strange city lying alone
Far down within the dim West,
Where the good and the bad and the worst and the best
Have quietly gone but nevertheless
Resemble nothing that is ours.
I have reached these lands but newly
walls so peaceful, soothing- truly
There the traveller meets aghast
Sheeted Memories of the Past-
Shrouded forms that start and sigh
As he passes and wanders by.
But the traveller, traveling through it,
May not- dare not openly view it!
With forms that no man can discover
Are these towers like no other.

Hercules vs Terminator

Hercules vs Terminator openend a couple of weeks ago in Studio K, Timorplein, Amsterdam.
A soundinstallation inspired by filmclassics with Arnold Schwarzenegger, such as Hercules in New York (1970) , The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 3 Rise of the machines (2004).

3 Dimensional Audiobook

In our latest speaker installation 'Three Dimensional Audiobook' (2007) we really focused on the dolby sound. The visitor takes place in the middle of the installation while the sounds are moving around him. He\She finds himself in a car-race, in the next minute in a group therapy with lovesick people, a.s.o.

Soundcity

'Soundcity' was our endexam installation in july 2007. We collected more then 500 speakers and built an abstract mono world. the sounds coming from 40 outputs are made by mouth.

Tiny Town

'Tiny Town' is an ongoing installation first shown on Amtsel Feld, a public meeting place in Amsterdam. About 25 (bird)houses of all style and size are put on two meters hight, creating a tiny second city. 'Tiny Town' will be shown in starting 24th of June 2008 in Leeuwarden in the Popta Castle

Die Herde

'Die Herde' was to be seen in 2007 in the oldest church of Amsterdam (Oude Kerk). We put about 30 sheep throughout the church, letting them call out for each other.

Elevator

'Elevator' (2005) was our first dolby surround sound installation in the emergency staircase of the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. 4 speakers were put on all 5 floors (incl. the cellar), generating the sound of an heavy object travelling slowly up and down.
